Eight of our students were recently recognized as outstanding agents of character and integrity by being named to "Franco's List." These students demonstrate caring, citizenship, commitment, dependability, open-mindedness and respect:

  • Carly Burkhardt, junior, English and pre-law
  • Spencer Lindsay, senior, history
  • Abi Paudel, senior, biochemisty and pre-med
  • Camden Bilyeu, junior, chemistry and economics
  • Samuel Jensen, junior, biochemistry and psychology
  • Joy "JD" McCown, senior, psychology, and women and gender studies
  • Colton Harper, sophomore, computer science and mathematics
  • Insyira Amin, senior, psychology

In a similar way that the Dean's List recognizes academic achievement, Franco's List recognizes "character achievement." The list is named after Juan Franco, the university's vice chancellor for student affairs.

All of the recipients were nominated by a campus community member and selected by a council of their peers, the vice chancellor for student affairs' Character Council.

Recipients were announced at an awards ceremony Nov. 18.
