Why did you select your major(s) and minor(s)? Were there any experiences that convinced you to declare?

I've really enjoyed chemistry in high school and college, and my grandfather who is a physician majored in chemistry when he was in college.

What is your favorite course you have taken from your program(s)?

I've really enjoyed organic chemistry. The problems just felt like puzzles and I really learned a lot.

Do you have research experience?

I am currently working in Dr. Morin's lab on a project involving precipitation reactions on the surface of lipid bilayers.

Have you had an internship/job?

I did the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) at UNMC this summer where I worked in Dr. Hollingsworth's lab on a project regarding protein activity in pancreatic cancer cells. My major helped me by giving me a background of lab experiences and it helped me be comfortable with reading/writing scientific literature.

What are you involved in on campus?

I am the Vice President of Intellectual Development for Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. I am a Chemistry T.A., and I am currently doing research in the chemistry department. I am the head social chairman for the Newman Center. I am a member of CASSAB

What are your plans after graduation?

I hope to go to med school.
