#NebraskaHonors Senior Spotlight, Allison Zetterman, has been an Honors Ambassador, an Honors Peer Mentor, and a Learning Assistant. Amongst her involvement, she says her favorite part of the Honors Program has been the opportunity to take a variety of interdisciplinary seminars:
“I feel like I grew more in these classes than any other of my college classes, and the faculty are amazing. The small class sizes enriched my learning experience and allowed me to dig deep into each topic.”
Allison plans to attend UNMC for medical school in the fall, and the Honors Program has pushed her to explore more opportunities in the medical field - including in a virology lab on campus. Her senior project, focused on Alzheimer's, allowed her to learn more about the disease, as well as many other valuable skills.
“Completing the Honors Senior Project helped me learn all of the steps that research entails. I hope to incorporate research into my future career, and I will be able to apply the knowledge that I gained through this process to my future goals.”
