On study abroad:
"Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at King’s College in London. Studying abroad was something that I had always wanted to do, but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fit it in during my undergrad.

"I spontaneously decided to apply for scholarships through the Education Abroad Office just to see what would happen, and I was lucky enough to receive the Early Abroad scholarship. This scholarship is reserved for students going abroad in their first two years of college.

"Receiving this scholarship was the catalyst for one of the greatest learning experiences I’ve had! I returned from London with so much confidence in my independence and a passion for travel. Going abroad is one of the best ways to learn about a new culture and about yourself!"

On self-care:
"Before college, the words ‘self-care’ weren’t in my vocabulary. While I often pursued activities that made me happy, I didn’t realize the restorative power of these actions and that I needed to be intentional with them in college.

"During my first weeks of classes, I struggled to find places and things that reenergized me after a long day. But when I stumbled across this quiet spot near the Lied Center for Performing Arts, I knew that I had found my special self-care corner on campus. I love how peaceful it is and that it is near the Lied, one of my favorite places on campus.

"Whether it’s FaceTiming your dog, listening to your favorite song or sitting on a quiet bench, take time for the things that make you smile!"
