On getting involved with The Big Event:
"In high school, serving my community was one thing that was really important to me. I wanted to find a way to give back to the community while making friends from around campus. It was just by chance that I heard of an amazing service event. Getting involved with The Big Event my freshman year allowed me to do both of those things, as well as serve in leadership roles for the past three years. It feels so great to be able to give back to the community that has given me so much in my time here at UNL. It can be intimidating to apply for things as a freshman but it is so worth it! Getting involved with an RSO helped me make friends from all majors and from all over campus."
