Majors: psychology, political science

"I love how interdisciplinary UNL's psychology department is," she said. "I study political psychology, and I enjoy the application of social psychological principles to political behavior. The more I learn, the more clearly I see connections between the disciplines."

Jessica serves as an undergraduate research assistant for labs within the department. With the guidance of Dr. Ingrid Haas, she is working on a UCARE project in political psychology which highlights moral foundation endorsement and ideology as predictors of COVID-19 behaviors and attitudes. She recently presented her research at the International Conference for Undergraduate Research.

When asked what her favorite psychology class was, Jessica said, "There are too many to choose from! Dr. Omelian's PSYC 189H "The Neuroscience of Zombies" inspired me to change my major to psychology freshman year, but my experiences with Cal in PSYC 350 have also been wonderful."

Fun fact—she loves to crochet!
