#NebraskaHonors Senior Spotlight Maddie Luebe stated that during her time at UNL, she enjoyed surrounding herself with other students who shared her academic drive:
“Living in Honors housing my freshman year granted me endless opportunities to connect with students as passionate about school as I am. It is because of my initial bond with this community that I had the privilege to explore diverse learning and leadership experiences unique to Honors..."
For Maddie, these experiences included serving as an Honors Peer Mentor Leader:
“Mentoring was a rewarding experience, and I especially enjoyed learning and hearing from first-year Honors students in the 101H class. Aside from being able to improve my leadership skills, I loved getting to watch students I mentored become mentors to others.”
As Maddie heads to UNMC for medical school, she wants to leave current and future Honors students with this advice: "Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try new things! With great risk comes great reward."
