Majors: biological sciences and Spanish

Maggie is a research assistant in the Canine Cognition and Human Interaction Lab and specializes in our human-animal interaction studies, where we seek to understand how interacting with a dog influences various aspects of human psychology.

Maggie facilitates these dog interactions during experiments and collects data, which is later analyzed by graduate student Elise Thayer.

Maggie joined CCHIL because she thought we’d be the perfect combination of her two favorite things: dogs and science! When we asked her what she enjoys about being in the lab, she told us that she enjoys “learning about the research process in a formal, fun, and engaging setting.” As far as how being an RA has benefited her, she said that “being a research assistant in this lab has helped me develop problem solving skills and given me more experience with and a different view on science.”
