Major: Great Plains Studies
Hometown: Garland, Nebraska

What does graduating from Nebraska mean to you?
I started this journey in 1972, got distracted and had to quit, so this means a lot to me, especially since it's taken me 48 years to get here. My dad was so disappointed in me that I didn't finish in the 70s. Hopefully he can see from heaven that I'm not the loser he thought I was.

Plans after graduation:
I have retired. I haven't thought about pursuing a masters, though that is always a possibility. I mostly want this Covid stuff to go away so I can spend more time with my grandkids, and go visit the ones who are out-of-state.

After graduation, I am most looking forward to reading the fiction and non-fiction books (collected during my classes) that are in my to-read stack, traveling to some of the places I heard about in my classes, enjoy being retired!

The best thing about being a Husker is all the diverse people and opportunities that are available for someone wanting to pursue those friendships and opportunities. Being a Husker is much more than football!

I would have to thank my former supervisor in the Student Involvement Office, Veronica Riepe, for being my biggest cheerleader and for all her encouragement. Also the students who worked in the SI Office and the SOFS office who often helped me with 'technical' questions about writing papers, PowerPoints, etc. My advisor, Olivia Miller, who always had time to answer my questions and kept me on track for graduation. Too many people to list here.
