Why did you decide to study abroad?
"I have always wanted to go since my freshman year but never followed through with it. It wasn’t until one day my roommate was talking about how she was going to go but wasn’t sure about it, so I said, "I'll fill out the application and we can go together!" Well we went through the whole process and now we are going! Japan was her number one choice and I’ll go anywhere there is an adventure."
What's been the biggest difference between Japan and Nebraska?
"The pace of everything. Lincoln is a decent sized city, but Tokyo is bigger. So getting used to having people all around me at all times is going to be weird."
What are you most excited for during your study abroad experience?
"I’m excited that i get to share this unique experience with my roommate and best friend. We never imagined that we would be traveling across the world together. I am also excited to see how the classroom setting is going to be. Getting to understand and put myself in their shoes as students is going to be different but interesting."
What's the last hobby you picked up?
"Painting canvases. I don’t paint pictures but words. I find it relaxing and it’s a good way to clear my mind after a long day."
