Applause for Terri Pieper

“Terri is an incredible team player who wears many hats, whether in another meeting or in the trenches (like literally on the floor prepping bulletin boards). She continually deserves recognition, but especially now for her efforts leading up to the humanities symposium, as she consolidates details from multiple sources and works to create the most meaningful (and free) event possible. Terri always brings knowledge, drive, and a sense of humor that make her a pleasure to work with, and she ensures that the MarComm team feels appreciated and empowered. She always asks, “What’s the purpose?” but her purpose as an effective leader is clear—please give her an Applause!”

“I’d like to nominate Terri Pieper for the Applause Award in recognition of nearly 3 years of determination, grit and hard work in building the college’s marketing and communications efforts from the ground-up into the vital and robust function it is today. Each day, Terri leads our team in the effort to promote the reputation and successes of our students, faculty and staff through numerous means, from revamping our college web site to enhancing the strategic use of a large variety of print, visual and social media. She has significantly impacted our college’s fundraising efforts by leading us in revitalizing our alumni and donor relations at the college level. Terri strategically leads and provides support to her team in the effort to carry out our goals and provide the highest level of customer service possible to our internal and external constituencies. All the while, Terri does so with good humor! As her employee, it is also important to note that I feel that Terri always “has our backs”, especially during the occasional “incoming” we individuals or our department faces from time to time. I’m as proud to call her my friend as I am to call her my supervisor! For these reasons, I strongly encourage you to consider Terri for the Applause Award as I can think of no one more deserving of this recognition.”

“I am happily nominating Terri for an applause award for her contributions in leading the Marketing and Communication team in the College, as well as her impact on campus in general. Since she joined Arts and Sciences a few short years ago, there has been a noticeable increase in exposure and notoriety, not to mention a more cohesive brand and sense of community across departments and programs. The projects she is tasked with leading are often complicated and involve many moving parts. Terri handles these with ease and has an incredible knack for managing expectations and delivering results beyond expectations. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and her commitment to the College should not go unrecognized, but be applauded. She is a perfect candidate for the applause award!”
