Why you chose your major

I've always been interested in history, and was excited to be able to pursue a career in the area that I'm passionate about.

Favorite course

My favorite course I've taken is Latin 101. This introductory course in Latin opened a lot of doors for me: I added a Latin minor, a Classics major, met new friends, went over to Rome for 3 weeks for my study abroad, and found one of my favorite professors on campus.

Research or internship experience

This past summer I had an internship at Gettysburg National Military Park. I was an interpretive intern, and I developed and gave programs around the battlefield, assisted with children's programs, and worked at the information desk. This experience opened my eyes to the field of historical interpretation, and deepened my interest in educating the public on history.

Other involvement

I am also involved in the Honors Program, UCARE, History Club, Classics Club, Intramurals, President of Eta Sigma Phi (Classical Languages Honor Society), member of other honor societies, TA for Classical Mythology

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL because of the excellent professors. On my college visits to UNL, the professors were passionate and genuinely interested in me and my future, and this has been true throughout my career here at UNL. I've enjoyed all of my professors, even if they were teaching classes that were not within my major.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
