What does graduating from Nebraska mean to you?
"Graduating from Nebraska means that I am a representative of my state and university wherever I go."

Transformational moment
"My most transformational experience was my Latin 101 class because I met Dr. Matthew Loar. This class inspired me to add a Classics major and Latin minor, and led me to many opportunities. I studied abroad in Italy on a trip led by Dr. Loar, I was a teaching assistant in one of his classes, and I am a researcher on a project he is working on. Dr. Loar's advice and guidance (and editing) has been invaluable and extremely influential over my past four years."

Plans after graduation
"Immediately following graduation I will be moving to New York to work as a summer Park Ranger at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island National Monuments. In the fall, I will start my MA in Public History Program at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina."

After graduation, I am most looking forward to...
"Obtaining my Master's degree in something I am passionate about!"

The best thing about being a Husker is...
"Having a shared connection with other Huskers around the country and the world. You'll always see Nebraska gear wherever you go!"

Why you chose your major
"I've always been interested in history, and was excited to be able to pursue a career in the area that I'm passionate about."

Favorite course
"My favorite course I've taken is Latin 101. This introductory course in Latin opened a lot of doors for me: I added a Latin minor, a Classics major, met new friends, went over to Rome for 3 weeks for my study abroad, and found one of my favorite professors on campus."

Research or internship experience
"I had an internship at Gettysburg National Military Park. I was an interpretive intern, and I developed and gave programs around the battlefield, assisted with children's programs, and worked at the information desk. This experience opened my eyes to the field of historical interpretation, and deepened my interest in educating the public on history."

Why you chose Nebraska
"I chose UNL because of the excellent professors. On my college visits to UNL, the professors were passionate and genuinely interested in me and my future, and this has been true throughout my career here at UNL. I've enjoyed all of my professors, even if they were teaching classes that were not within my major."
