To remind their peers of the importance of making their voices heard in the American political system, William H. Thompson Scholars enrolled in Political Science 100, an introductory American government class, created a series of humorous public service announcements.

This assignment was designed to address key democratic dilemmas facing the nation.

“I always tell my class that the sky’s the limit in terms of how creative they can be and this semester, my students really exceeded my expectations!” said Dona-Gene Barton, associate professor in Political Science.

One group parodied Zach Galifianakis’ famed interview series “Between Two Ferns.” The UNL student version is titled “Between Two Chairs” and was filmed throughout Lincoln near notable landmarks including the Capital Building.
