Kayla Reynolds, a junior biological sciences major with minors in humanities in medicine and psychology, has earned the Roy and Catherine Yaley Student Leadership Award/Scholarship and the Jack and Sharon Miller Scholarship.

Each spring, the Nebraska Alumni Association awards five outstanding students for their commitment to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and their promising future.

  • The Yaley Scholarship recognizes a student who has made a significant contribution of his or her time, talent and leadership to the Nebraska Alumni Association through one of the association's student programs or volunteer work at the association.
  • The Miller Scholarship is awarded to a Student Alumni Association (SAA) member who has demonstrated leadership in and commitment to the organization.

She has been a part of the board of directors for the SAA for the past two years and served as the vice president of Homecoming for the 2021-2022 year. Through her involvement with SAA, she has participated in numerous homecoming, professional development, recruitment, and alumni relation events as well as opportunities with the Nebraska Women's Leadership Network.

She is also a Well-Being Coach through Big Red Resilience and Well-Being.

"I hope to connect with and support other college students through the many challenges that may face them throughout their time at UNL," she said.

Reynolds plans to attend PA school after graduation to become a physician assistant.

She will be honored with other recipients at the SAA's Cornhusker Experience Gala on April 14 at the AKRS Champions Club.
