Philip Schwadel, professor of sociology, has been selected to receive a Global Religion Research Initiative Curriculum Development grant. The grant will support the development of his online, upper-division course that examines a variety of religions around the world with the focus on interactions between people from diverse religious backgrounds.
The initiative aims to advance the empirical study of global religion in mainstream academia by granting funds to promising researchers in the field. It launched summer 2016 in the Center for the Study of Religion and Society at the University of Notre Dame.
