Sixteen high school girls from the U.S. and Brazil are attending the All Girls/All Math camp this week. Hosted on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus by the Department of Mathematics since 1997, the event was adapted to an online format this year.

The virtual experience includes:

  • A workshop on modeling infectious diseases by postdoctoral researcher Amanda Laubmeier
  • Tours of Morrill Hall, the Nebraska State Capitol, and Duncan Aviation

  • A campus scavenger hunt and escape room, developed by undergraduate coordinator Samantha Wolff and mathematics major Taylor Bartek
  • A career panel with undergraduates and professionals

The department is part of the College of Arts and Sciences, which is sponsoring the event along with the university's Center for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Education; the American Mathematical Society Epsilon Program; and the Mathematical Association of America Tensor Women and Mathematics Grants.
