Community organizations can learn about a wide range of topics from UNL faculty and staff without stepping foot on campus.

The Speakers Bureau is in its 22nd year with 26 faculty and staff and more asking to join.

Dan Claes, department chair and professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, has been with the Speakers Bureau for five years. He talks on three topics: "Comic Book Physics 101" (his most popular), "What the Heck is a Higgs Boson?" and "Are We Alone in the Universe?"

“I’ve had people come up afterward and say, ‘I think I’m going to find a physics class to sign up for,’” he said. “That’s very gratifying to hear.”
