Why you chose your major

I started as a Biological Science major but found later on when taking upper level chemistry courses that I loved the in depth understanding of the world that chemistry gives!

Favorite and/or most impactful course

Organic Chemistry, it was the most challenging course I took at the university that really made me love chemistry and taught me how to study effectively! It made me appreciate a difficult professor and learn how to turn that into an opportunity to learn.

Research or internship experience

I participated in UNMC's Summer Undergraduate Research Program, studying the use of Glycomics to understand COVID-19 prognosis! It was such a great experience to which I not only learned research skills but social skills when discussing with my mentors and presenting my research. Plus, it was such an interesting and relevant topic that ended in me gaining a permanent position in the lab!

Other involvement

I am an Undergraduate teaching assistant and office manager for the Fundamentals of Biology 2 lab here at UNL. I also volunteer weekly at the Cat House in Lincoln which I really enjoy.

Why you chose Nebraska

I grew up a Husker fan and Lincoln seemed like the perfect distance to get the college experience without being too far from home!

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
