Lake Andes, South Dakota

Why you chose your major

I have worked in Pierre (the South Dakota capitol) and enjoyed working with politics and I have also worked for the SDGFP for the past three years in park management. my majors reflect my passions and joys in life

Favorite and/or most impactful course

My most impactful class was Soil Science with Becky Young. It was an applicable class that I understood from my past experiences but I can also use the information from the class in my future careers and hobbies.

Research or internship experience

I interned for the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department in South Dakota. I have been a Park Management intern at a state park for the past two years. I helped manage the park by helping with groundskeeping, maintenance, janitorial work, and consumer service by selling permits and camp pads.

Other involvement

I am the secretary for the Campus Recreation Advisory Council and am apart of the Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha. I also volunteer at my church nursery.

Why you chose Nebraska

It was the closest university to my home that offered amazing programs for both of my majors.
