Why you chose your major

I chose a Biology major because it allows for lots of flexibility in the courses you want to take. This major was a great option for me coming into college because I wasn't sure what health profession I wanted to pursue and a Biology major works for many health professional schools.

Favorite course

My favorite course has been Ballet II through the dance department because it was a great way to relieve stress from all my science courses. This class allowed me to be creative and artistic which was different from most of my courses. The class was fun and relaxing and I was able to create a more personal relationship with the professor because of the class layout.

Other involvement

I am a Genetics Lab Intern, training to become a teaching assistant. I love being able to help other students understand genetics and through working with students I get to solidify my knowledge of the content. This experience has also taught me invaluable things about myself and my leadership skills.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose to come to UNL because I wanted to move away from home and put myself out of my comfort zone. I chose UNL because everyone I met while touring the campus was friendly and welcoming and made me feel comfortable. I loved all the resources UNL had for academic success such as the explore center, career services and department specific resource centers.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
