Why you chose your major

I picked my major because I have always been interested in the human mind, and the biology behind it. I also aspire to be on a neurosurgical team one day.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

My favorite course so far would have to be psychoneuropharmacology, because you learn so much about how the brain works and the anatomy behind it.

Research or internship experience

I joined the behavioral neuropharmacology lab as a volunteer during my sophomore year. Now I am currently completing my own research project within the lab that is looking at possible reward enhancing effects of nicotine on methylphenidate.

Other involvement

I am currently the president of the Biology club at UNL. I have been in the club since second semester of my freshman year.

Why you chose Nebraska

My junior year of high school I went to a Husker football game, and toured the campus with my family. While I was there almost everyone treated me as if we were friends. I had never felt so welcome in a place where I have never been. On top of that, even though the Huskers did not win the game, all of the fans cheered, and remained enthusiastic throughout. I had never seen so many people support something with that much emotion. After all of this, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the Husker family.
