Chemistry (Pre-Physician Assistant)

Humanities in Medicine

Omaha, NE

Why you chose your major

I picked my major because I really enjoyed advanced chemistry in high school, and the coursework and requirements overlaps really well with the pre-PA track (and other pre-medicine tracks) which is something I knew I wanted to be a part of.

Favorite course

My favorite course so far has been psychology, because it juxtaposed humanities and natural sciences, both things I am very interested in. We learned a lot about the biology of the brain, and of course, the psychology of the mind.

Other involvement

I am also involved in the Cornhusker Marching Band, and this summer I volunteered with Camp Munroe at UNMC.

Why you chose Nebraska

I chose UNL because it is strong in the subjects I am interested in, and has a good relationship with medical programs in the state. It was also close to home, which was important to me.

Student Ambassadors group

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
